In case you didn’t notice, downtown West Palm Beach is bustling right now.

And downtown businesses are loving it. Of course.

Pizza Girls is dishing out more slices of pizza, the Style Bar has set up a sale table to hawk merchandise, and Mambo Italiano has opened up a take-out window to cater to hungry Sunfest revelers.

“(Sunfest) brings a lot of different people that wouldn’t normally come downtown, which gives us great visibility,” said Jennifer Morales, co-owner of Pizza Girls, which is located near the entrance to Sunfest. “People are able to try our pizza, get a taste for us and come back for more.”

Gerry Novoa, owner of The Style Bar, said he plans on taking “full advantage” of the increased traffic from Sunfest. “SunFest draws from many different parts of Florida, so the exposure to the number of people in just one weekend alone is incredible,” he said.

Bruce Lewis, chair of the DDA Board of Directors, said downtown businesses look forward to Sunfest both for an increase in foot traffic and for a chance to show visitors what the area has to offer.

And on that note… I’m headed off on vacation for about a week, so Malled! will not be updated as frequently. Feel free to post a comment or send me an e-mail though with your thoughts!
